The Old Testament of the Bible begins with the startling Truth that God made Man in His image.

Even in this act of making Man in His image, God proved that He intended to be Father to Man. While Father God made animals “after their kind” [Genesis 1:21, 24, and 25], with Adam, Father God instituted a new process, that human children would be made in the image of God.

Genesis 1:26-27 says:

Genesis 1:26-27
26God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and God’s Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the beasts [animals], and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth.
27So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Genesis 5:1-2
1This is the book (the written record, the history) of the generations of the offspring of Adam. When God created man, He made him in the likeness of God.
2He created them male and female and blessed them and named them [both] Adam [Man] at the time they were created.

Did you read the sections He Created All Things or Our All In All? Think for a moment how immense God must be to have flung all the stars and planets into space, to have set the boundaries of the oceans, to have determined where the sun rises and sets. Listen to this verse and then tell me His size:

Hebrews 1:2-3
2 [But] in the last of these days He has spoken to us in [the person of a] Son, Whom He appointed Heir and lawful Owner of all things, also by and through Whom He created the worlds and the reaches of space and the ages of time [He made, produced, built, operated, and arranged them in order].
3 He is the sole expression of the glory of God [the Light-being, the out-raying or radiance of the divine], and He is the perfect imprint and very image of [God’s] nature, upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe by His mighty word of power. When He had by offering Himself accomplished our cleansing of sins and riddance of guilt, He sat down at the right hand of the divine Majesty on high,

Or, even larger, Ephesians calls Him The One Who Fills All in All!

Ephesians 1:23
23 Which is His body, the fullness of Him Who fills all in all [for in that body lives the full measure of Him Who makes everything complete, and Who fills everything everywhere with Himself].

Would you agree that God is immense!?!

On this website, have you read these two key passages about God’s anger against His enemies as expressed through His nostrils?

Psalm 18:1-19
1I love You fervently and devotedly, O Lord, my Strength.
2The Lord is my Rock, my Fortress, and my Deliverer; my God, my keen and firm Strength in Whom I will trust and take refuge, my Shield, and the Horn of my salvation, my High Tower.
3I will call upon the Lord, Who is to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.
4The cords or bands of death surrounded me, and the streams of ungodliness and the torrents of ruin terrified me.
5The cords of Sheol (the place of the dead) surrounded me; the snares of death confronted and came upon me.
6In my distress [when seemingly closed in] I called upon the Lord and cried to my God; He heard my voice out of His temple (heavenly dwelling place), and my cry came before Him, into His [very] ears.
7Then the earth quaked and rocked, the foundations also of the mountains trembled; they moved and were shaken because He was indignant and angry.
8There went up smoke from His nostrils; and lightning out of His mouth devoured; coals were kindled by it.
9He bowed the heavens also and came down; and thick darkness was under His feet.
10And He rode upon a cherub [a storm] and flew [swiftly]; yes, He sped on with the wings of the wind.
11He made darkness His secret hiding place; as His pavilion (His canopy) round about Him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.
12Out of the brightness before Him there broke forth through His thick clouds hailstones and coals of fire.
13The Lord also thundered from the heavens, and the Most High uttered His voice, amid hailstones and coals of fire.
14And He sent out His arrows and scattered them; and He flashed forth lightnings and put them to rout.
15Then the beds of the sea appeared and the foundations of the world were laid bare at Your rebuke, O Lord, at the blast of the breath of Your nostrils.
16He reached from on high, He took me; He drew me out of many waters.
17He delivered me from my strong enemy and from those who hated and abhorred me, for they were too strong for me.
18They confronted and came upon me in the day of my calamity, but the Lord was my stay and support.
19He brought me forth also into a large place; He was delivering me because He was pleased with me and delighted in me.

2 Samuel 22:2-20
    2He said: The Lord is my Rock and my Fortress [in the wilderness] and my Deliverer;
3My God, my Rock, in Him will I take refuge; my Shield and the Horn of my salvation; my Stronghold and my Refuge, my Savior--You save me from violence.
4I call on the Lord, Who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.
5For the waves of death enveloped me; the torrents of destruction made me afraid.
6The cords of Sheol were entangling me; I encountered the snares of death.
7In my distress I called upon the Lord; I cried to my God, and He heard my voice from His temple; my cry came into His ears.
8Then the earth reeled and quaked, the foundations of the heavens trembled and shook because He was angry.
9Smoke went up from His nostrils, and devouring fire from His mouth; coals were kindled by it.
10He bowed the heavens and came down; thick darkness was under His feet.
11He rode on a cherub and flew; He was seen upon the wings of the wind.
12He made darkness His canopy around Him, gathering of waters, thick clouds of the skies.
13Out of the brightness before Him coals of fire flamed forth.
14The Lord thundered from heaven, and the Most High uttered His voice.
15He sent out arrows and scattered them; lightning confused and troubled them.
16The channels of the sea were visible, the foundations of the world were uncovered at the rebuke of the Lord, at the blast of the breath of His nostrils.
17He sent from above, He took me; He drew me out of great waters.
18He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me.
19They came upon me in the day of my calamity, but the Lord was my stay.
20He brought me forth into a large place; He delivered me because He delighted in me.

[You’ll find more verses like that in the sections His Enemies and Ours, He Rescues Afflicted, He Protects, He Is Our Defender, and He Hides Us From Harm.]

Now, just for comparison, reread the verses which mention His nostrils, then go to a mirror and compare the size of God’s nostrils with the size of your own nostrils.

In fact, for fun you might want to look at the size of the nostrils of your family members! Consider this! The size of someone else’s nostrils will help you better understand God!

Genesis 2:7 says that God formed Adam ― with His two hands and His complete attention ― and breathed Life into Adam’s nostrils.

Genesis 2:7
7Then the Lord God formed Man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath or spirit of life, and man became a living being.

God, Whose Name is I AM, dramatically reduced Himself in size so that He could bend down over Adam and gently, tenderly, lovingly breathe into His nostrils.

Imagine! When God formed Adam, Adam had not sinned — in fact, there was no sin in the world. Adam had not lived until that moment. His mind was like a blank artist’s canvas with nothing drawn on it.

Imagine! After God breathed Life into Adam, Adam opened up his eyes. He was staring into Father God’s face of absolute, pure love and acceptance!

With as much pure love as He displayed while breathing life into Adam, Father God lovingly breathed life into you.

With as much pure acceptance as He welcomed Adam to life, Father God lovingly welcomed you to life.

Now would be a good time to read the section called He Created Us.

Have you ever seen someone knitting or weaving? Knitting and weaving takes two hands and the worker’s complete attention! It’s impossible for a knitter to knit with one hand and with the other hand cook dinner!

If you want to do something casually, like open a door, you use one hand. But if you want to do something well, you use two hands and focus on what you are doing. Do you agree?

When Father God was knitting you together, He used two hands and did excellent work. [It is impossible for God to do less than excellent work!] Think about it as you read from Psalm 139.

Psalm 139:1-18
1O LORD, you have searched me [thoroughly] and have known me.
2You know my downsitting and my uprising; You understand my thought afar off.
3You sift and search out my path and my lying down, and You are acquainted with all my ways.
4For there is not a word in my tongue [still unuttered], but, behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.
5You have beset me and shut me in [encircled me with protection, enfolded me in Your love]--behind and before, and You have laid Your hand upon me [to bless me].
6Your [infinite] knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high above me, I cannot reach it.
7Where could I go from Your Spirit? Or where could I flee from Your presence?
8If I ascend up into heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol (the place of the dead), behold, You are there.
9If I take the wings of the morning or dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10Even there shall Your hand lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me.
11If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me and the night shall be [the only] light about me,
12Even the darkness hides nothing from You, but the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to You.
13For You did form my inward parts; You did knit me together in my mother's womb.
14I will confess and praise You for You are fearful and wonderful and for the [amazing] wonder of my birth! Wonderful are Your works, and that my inner self knows right well.
15My frame was not hidden from You when I was being formed in secret [and] intricately and curiously wrought [as if embroidered with various colors] in the depths of the earth [a region of darkness and mystery].
16Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in Your book all the days [of my life] were written before ever they took shape, when as yet there was none of them.
17How precious and weighty also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them!
18If I could count them, they would be more in number than the sand. When I awake, [if I could count to the end] I would still be with You.

Father God planned and prepared for your birth. No matter the circumstances of your birth, you were wanted by God, and you are His offspring, His child.

Acts 17:24-26
24The God Who produced and formed the world and all things in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in handmade shrines.
25Neither is He served by human hands, as though He lacked anything, for it is He Himself Who gives life and breath and all things to all [people].
26And He made from one [common origin, one source, one blood] all nations of men to settle on the face of the earth, having definitely determined [their] allotted periods of time and the fixed boundaries of their habitation (their settlements, lands, and abodes),

Acts 17:28-29
28 For in Him we live and move and have our being; as even some of your [own] poets have said, For we are also His offspring.
29Since then we are God's offspring, we ought not to suppose that Deity (the Godhead) is like gold or silver or stone, [of the nature of] a representation by human art and imagination, or anything constructed or invented.

Adam awoke into the reality that Father God had desired for all of us — Father God desired us to be welcomed to life and to feel welcomed. He desired us to be “received” into this world with joy.

Throughout the Bible, Father God calls Himself our Father. In the New Testament, As said earlier, Jesus encouraged us to consider God as our Father. Right now, He encourages you to consider God as your Father.

He wants you to realize that He has chosen you to be His child and He loves you, individually. Slowly read and reread the passages below until your heart believes that these Words from God’s Heart are true for you.

Ephesians 1:2-21
2May grace (God's unmerited favor) and spiritual peace [which means peace with God and harmony, unity, and undisturbedness] be yours from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3May blessing (praise, laudation, and eulogy) be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) Who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual (given by the Holy Spirit) blessing in the heavenly realm!
4Even as [in His love] He chose us [actually picked us out for Himself as His own] in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy (consecrated and set apart for Him) and blameless in His sight, even above reproach, before Him in love.
5For He foreordained us (destined us, planned in love for us) to be adopted (revealed) as His own children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the purpose of His will [because it pleased Him and was His kind intent]--
6[So that we might be] to the praise and the commendation of His glorious grace (favor and mercy), which He so freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.
7In Him we have redemption (deliverance and salvation) through His blood, the remission (forgiveness) of our offenses (shortcomings and trespasses), in accordance with the riches and the generosity of His gracious favor,
8Which He lavished upon us in every kind of wisdom and understanding (practical insight and prudence),
9Making known to us the mystery (secret) of His will (of His plan, of His purpose). [And it is this:] In accordance with His good pleasure (His merciful intention) which He had previously purposed and set forth in Him,
10[He planned] for the maturity of the times and the climax of the ages to unify all things and head them up and consummate them in Christ, [both] things in heaven and things on the earth.
11In Him we also were made [God's] heritage (portion) and we obtained an inheritance; for we had been foreordained (chosen and appointed beforehand) in accordance with His purpose, Who works out everything in agreement with the counsel and design of His [own] will,
12So that we who first hoped in Christ [who first put our confidence in Him have been destined and appointed to] live for the praise of His glory!
13In Him you also who have heard the Word of Truth, the glad tidings (Gospel) of your salvation, and have believed in and adhered to and relied on Him, were stamped with the seal of the long-promised Holy Spirit.
14That [Spirit] is the guarantee of our inheritance [the firstfruits, the pledge and foretaste, the down payment on our heritage], in anticipation of its full redemption and our acquiring [complete] possession of it--to the praise of His glory.
15For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints (the people of God),
16I do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers.
17[For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him,
18By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones),
19And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength,
20Which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places],
21Far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come.

Romans 8:28-30
28We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.
29For those whom He foreknew [of whom He was aware and loved beforehand], He also destined from the beginning [foreordaining them] to be molded into the image of His Son [and share inwardly His likeness], that He might become the firstborn among many brethren.
30And those whom He thus foreordained, He also called; and those whom He called, He also justified (acquitted, made righteous, putting them into right standing with Himself). And those whom He justified, He also glorified [raising them to a heavenly dignity and condition or state of being].

Romans 8:32-35
32He who did not withhold or spare [even] His own Son but gave Him up for us all, will He not also with Him freely and graciously give us all [other] things?
33Who shall bring any charge against God's elect [when it is] God Who justifies [that is, Who puts us in right relation to Himself? Who shall come forward and accuse or impeach those whom God has chosen? Will God, Who acquits [frees] us?]
34Who is there to condemn [us]? Will Christ Jesus (the Messiah), Who died, or rather Who was raised from the dead, Who is at the right hand of God actually pleading as He intercedes for us?
35Who shall ever separate us from Christ's love? Shall suffering and affliction and tribulation? Or calamity and distress? Or persecution or hunger or destitution or peril or sword?

Romans 8:37-39
37Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.
38For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers,
39Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Sometimes, in the following passages from the Bible, He says outright that you are His child.

Other times, He demonstrates His Fatherly love for you through His promises. Because His Fatherly, individualized concern was expressed quite clearly through His prophet Isaiah, we will review those passages before others.

Regardless of His choice of expression, God, Who names Himself your Father, demonstrates His Fatherly love for you as He describes Himself and assures:

Isaiah 41:4
4Who has prepared and done this, calling forth and guiding the destinies of the generations [of the nations] from the beginning? I, the Lord--the first [existing before history began] and with the last [an ever-present, unchanging God]--I AM He.

Isaiah 14:24
24The Lord of hosts has sworn, saying, Surely, as I have thought and planned, so shall it come to pass, and as I have purposed, so shall it stand—

Isaiah 48:3
3 I have declared from the beginning the former things; they went forth from My mouth and I made them known; then suddenly I did them, and they came to pass [says the Lord].

Isaiah 48:6
6You have heard [these things foretold], now you see this fulfillment. And will you not bear witness to it? I show you specified new things from this time forth, even hidden things [kept in reserve] which you have not known.

Isaiah 48:13
13Yes, My hand has laid the foundation of the earth, and My right hand has spread out the heavens; when I call to them, they stand forth together [to execute My decrees].

Isaiah 48:15
15 I, even I, have foretold it; yes, I have called him; I have brought him, and [the Lord] shall make his way prosperous.

Isaiah 43:18-21
18Do not [earnestly] remember the former things; neither consider the things of old.
19Behold, I AM doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
20The beasts of the field honor Me, the jackals and the ostriches, because I give waters in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, to give drink to My people, My chosen,
21The people I formed for Myself, that they may set forth My praise [and they shall do it].

Isaiah 42:1-9
1Behold, My Servant, Whom I uphold, My elect in Whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice and right and reveal truth to the nations.
2He will not cry or shout aloud or cause His voice to be heard in the street.
3A bruised reed He will not break, and a dimly burning wick He will not quench; He will bring forth justice in truth.
4He will not fail or become weak or be crushed and discouraged till He has established justice in the earth; and the islands and coastal regions shall wait hopefully for Him and expect His direction and law.
5Thus says God the Lord--He Who created the heavens and stretched them forth, He Who spread abroad the earth and that which comes out of it, He Who gives breath to the people on it and spirit to those who walk in it:
6 I the Lord have called You [the Messiah] for a righteous purpose and in righteousness; I will take You by the hand and will keep You; I will give You for a covenant to the people for a light to the nations,
7To open the eyes of the blind, to bring out prisoners from the dungeon, and those who sit in darkness from the prison.
8 I AM the Lord; that is My name! And My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images.
9Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them.

Isaiah 49:8-13
8Thus says the Lord, In an acceptable and favorable time I have heard and answered you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you; and I will preserve you and give you for a covenant to the people, to raise up and establish the land [from its present state of ruin] and to apportion and cause them to inherit the desolate heritages,
9Saying to those who are bound, Come forth, and to those who are in [spiritual] darkness, Show yourselves [come into the light of the Sun of righteousness]. They shall feed in all the ways [in which they go], and their pastures shall be [not in deserts, but] on all the bare [grass-covered] hills.
10They will not hunger or thirst, neither will mirage [mislead] or scorching wind or sun smite [harm] them; for He Who has mercy on them will lead them, and by springs of water will He guide them.
11And I will make all My mountains a way, and My highways will be raised up.
12Behold, these shall come from afar--and, behold, these from the north and from the west, and these from the land of Sinim (China).
13Sing for joy, O heavens, and be joyful, O earth, and break forth into singing, O mountains! For the Lord has comforted His people and will have compassion upon His afflicted.

Isaiah 49:15-16
15[And the Lord answered] Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, they may forget, yet I will not forget you.
16Behold, I have indelibly imprinted (tattooed a picture of) you on the palm of each of My hands; your walls are continually before Me.

Isaiah 49:18
18Lift up your eyes round about and see [the returning ones, eager to build up]; all these gather together and come to you. As I live, says the Lord, you shall surely clothe yourself with them all as with an ornament and bind them on you as a bride does.

Isaiah 49:24-25
24Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captives of the just be delivered?
25For thus says the Lord: Even the captives of the mighty will be taken away, and the prey of the terrible will be delivered; for I will contend with him who contends with you, and I will give safety to your children and ease them.

Isaiah 40:12-14
12Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, marked off the heavens with a [nine-inch] span, enclosed the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance?
13Who has directed the Spirit of the Lord, or as His counselor has taught Him?
14With whom did He take counsel, that instruction might be given Him? Who taught Him the path of justice and taught Him knowledge and showed Him the way of understanding?

Isaiah 40:18
18To whom then will you liken God? Or with what likeness will you compare Him?

Isaiah 40:21-25
21[You worshipers of idols, you are without excuse.] Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? [These things ought to convince you of God's omnipotence and of the folly of bowing to idols.] Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?
22It is God Who sits above the circle (the horizon) of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; it is He Who stretches out the heavens like [gauze] curtains and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in,
23Who brings dignitaries to nothing, Who makes the judges and rulers of the earth as chaos (emptiness, falsity, and futility).
24Yes, these men are scarcely planted, scarcely are they sown, scarcely does their stock take root in the earth, when [the Lord] blows upon them and they wither, and the whirlwind or tempest takes them away like stubble.
25To whom then will you liken Me, that I should be equal to him? says the Holy One.

Isaiah 43:10-13
10You are My witnesses, says the Lord, and My servant whom I have chosen, that you may know Me, believe Me and remain steadfast to Me, and understand that I AM He. Before Me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after Me.
11 I, even I, AM the Lord, and besides Me there is no Savior.
12 I have declared [the future] and have saved [the nation in times of danger], and I have shown [that I AM God]--when there was no strange and alien god among you; therefore you are My witnesses, says the Lord, that I AM God.
13Yes, from the time of the first existence of day and from this day forth I AM He; and there is no one who can deliver out of My hand. I will work, and who can hinder or reverse it?

Isaiah 40:26
26Lift up your eyes on high and see! Who has created these [stars]? He Who brings out their host by number and calls them all by name; through the greatness of His might and because He is strong in power, not one is missing or lacks anything.

Isaiah 40:28-31
28Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not faint or grow weary; there is no searching of His understanding.
29He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound].
    30Even youths shall faint and be weary, and [selected] young men shall feebly stumble and fall exhausted;
31But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.

Isaiah 27:2-3
2In that day, A vineyard beloved and lovely; sing a responsive song to it and about it!
3 I, the Lord, am its Keeper; I water it every moment; lest anyone harm it, I guard and keep it night and day.

Isaiah 41:10
10Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I AM with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I AM your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice.

Isaiah 41:13
13For I the Lord your God hold your right hand; I AM the Lord, Who says to you, Fear not; I will help you!

Isaiah 42:16
16And I will bring the blind by a way that they know not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known. I will make darkness into light before them and make uneven places into a plain. These things I have determined to do [for them]; and I will not leave them forsaken.

Isaiah 43:2
2When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned or scorched, nor will the flame kindle upon you.

Isaiah 45:2
2 I will go before you and level the mountains [to make the crooked places straight]; I will break in pieces the doors of bronze and cut asunder the bars of iron.

Isaiah 45:5-6
5 I AM the Lord, and there is no one else; there is no God besides Me. I will gird and arm you, though you have not known Me,
6That men may know from the east and the rising of the sun and from the west and the setting of the sun that there is no God besides Me. I AM the Lord, and no one else [is He].

Isaiah 32:15-17
